Grape syrup (in Turkish üzüm pekmezi) is a molasses with a thick consistency, made from grape must. Its color and taste are similar to sugar beet syrup. However, the taste is more fruity, with a slight acidity. It can be used as topping (e.g. for pancakes) and also for baking. We recommend you mix the syrup with sesame paste (tahin-pekmez) and use it as a spread.
